Patty Gillen, LCSW

Patty has worked with individuals, families and youth for 25 years. She began her career as an advocate for survivors of child sexual abuse and rape. She has also worked within the court system advocating for children and their families in areas of foster care, divorce and custody.

Patty holds a BS in Child and Youth Services from Medialle College in Buffalo, NY (1990). In 2002 Patty graduated Springfield College of Social Work in Springfield, MA. Patty worked for Catholic Family Services providing therapy to youth and families. She implemented and facilitated groups for youth, women and survivors of sexual abuse, along with conducting parenting skills building groups. Patty also worked for four years in the foster care system as a family specialist.

Patty worked for 10 years at Samaritan Counseling Center in New York before she moved to Arizona to join Faith Counseling Center. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified EMDR therapist. Patty is coordinator of the Project PASS program, which is a school based program focusing on family functioning and assisting the students with school related issues. She is also the coordinator of Project Recovery, which focuses on issues of posttraumatic stress.

Patty's clinical practice focuses on issues of sexual trauma, depression, anxiety, and family related issues. Populations that Patty works with include adults and children utilizing individual, family and couples modalities.

Patty is a member of NASW, EMDRIA, National Center for Crisis Management, and a volunteer with Give an Hour.
